In Spring 2019 and the Spring 2020 (before and after co-op), I worked as a Peer Mentor for the General Studies program. The General Studies program is a program closely related to the Explore Program, and we work with students who also have yet to decide on a major. This was similar to my NU.in Mentor experience, but also different because I was facilitating activities in-class rather than online. I answered questions and helped them find resources at Northeastern, as well as learn about different majors they may be interested in. My favorite part was presenting about my co-op experience to the students, as I could tell that they were interested in learning about what co-op means and my personal experience. This experience helped me brush up on my presentation skills, and learn how to answer students’ questions in an honest and concise way.
